Ford Motor Company announced that the St. Paul plant will be closed in May of 2008. The decision came as Ford is attempting to restucture and be more profitable in the face of foreign competition. The plant avoided the chopping block back in January but was faced with the inevitable. The property that the company currently sits on is considered valuable real estate and is expected to be worth millions to potential developers.
