Senate cmte approves constitutional amendment on flag burning

The Senate Judiciary Commitee passed a constitutional amendment to prohibit burning of the US flag. The amendment goes to the full Senate where it needs a 2/3 vote for it to pass. The House has passed a similar version. If the amendment is approved by the Senate it would be sent to the states for ratification.
