Gov. Pawlenty today traveled to Detroit today to Ford headquarters to persuad them not to close the plant that makes the Ford Ranger. Sales of this vehicle have been declining for quite some time leading to speculation that the plant is on a list of plant closures this year. Pawlenty also told Ford officials that they would give Ford an incentive to turn the facility into alternative fuel making facility. Ford officials said they couldnt make any promises at this point and that their decision has not been finalized.
