Republican lobbyist pleads guilty to charges; could lead to scandal on Capitol Hill

Jack Abramoff, a republican lobbyist, pleaded guilty to fraud, conspiracy and tax evasion in exchange for cooperating with federal prosecutors. This is part of a larger scheme that the Justice Department is investigating which may involve some members of congress as well as staff regarding corrupting public officials. A former congressional aide to Tom DeLay pleaded guilty to similar charges last year.
