House GOP may hold election for majority leader at the beginning of 06 session

As the Congressional republicans gear up for 2006 some are pushing for the election of a new majority leader. DeLay has been a very effective leader in the House but with his legal woes in Texas still unresolved has been unable to deliver as he was forced to step aside his leadership post. Some fellow republican members would like that job and are pushing for an election when the 2006 session begins. More importantly they want a majority leader in place so that they can more aggressively pursue their agenda as this is an election year and want to be able to bring results for their home districts.
