Former Congressman Bill Janklow has asked the South Dakota State Supreme Court to reinstate his license to practice law. His license was automatically revoked after he was convicted of manslaughter in 2002 for running a stop sign and speeding. The State Disclipinary Board has recommended that his license be reinstated on Feb. 15th. Janklow's lawyer will argue that the event that lead to the revocation of his license was not related to the legal profession and that he will not be a threat to the public as a practicing lawyer and should be reinstated immediately. The State Supreme Court has the final decision in this matter.
