Iran to pursue nuclear weapons

Iran announced against the advice of European countries that it would pursue the development of weapons grade uranium. The IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), is expected to recommend to the UN to take a hard line stand against Iran. Both the US and Europe are against Iran developing nuclear weapons. Iran argues that it is for peaceful purposes. Outsiders are sceptical because Iran has plenty of oil and does not need nuclear energy. Experts believe that Iran is about 10 years away from developing weapons grade uranium. One of the chief concerns is that uranium has a dual use purpose meaning that there is a legitimate purpose and an illegitimate purpose for a particular item. In this case either a nuclear power plant or nuclear weapon.
