Scam artists posing as recruiters for jury duty

Hennepin County Court Adminstrator Mark Thompson would like to let everyone know that there are some people calling people about jury duty. He said that you will never be contacted over the phone for jury duty unless you initiate. Most likely if you are summoned for jury duty you will receive a questionaire by US mail determining your eligibility for a case. Thompson believes that they are using this tactic to gain data for illegitimate purposes. The callers have requested Social Security numbers and bank account information and threatened them with issuing arrest warrants if they fail to comply. The calls thus far have been to Anoka, Hennepin and Dakota counties.
