Wal-Mart was in a California courtroom answering a lawsuit that it discriminates against women in promotion. The lawsuit alleges that there are more male store managers than female store managers. Walmart would like the judge to split up the class-action lawsuit into several lawsuits. Plaintiffs lawyers argued against that because it would be harder for one plaintiff to go up against Walmart than as a group. Some believe that if the class action suit stands that it could hurt other major retailers.
