Republicans are the majority party for a reason

The DNC has accused the Republican Congress and the White House that they are out of touch with the American people. The reality is that there is a reason why republicans are in control is that they have offered viable solutions to the American people to move America forward. Now I believe that the Democrats are capable of putting out a message that contrasts them from the republicans but personal attacks are not going to work. Until the democratic party decides that it wants the trust of the American people and moderate their message they will continue to be the minority party. This isnt about being a Democrat or Republican. Its about bringing new ideas forward to keep us moving in to the future. Democrats as a whole cant claim the mainstream while espousing extremist positions. The average American believes that a republican is more likley to get something done as opposed to a democrat who constantly complains why you shouldnt vote republican. We need two strong national parties in order to get good public policy passed.

I agree but I don't think the Democratic Party is likely to change. The political core of the Democratic Party is extremist now. When Dean says the things that he does, the Democrats' core constituency goes gaa-gaa over him. My hope is that the Democratic Party will collapse and be replaced by a worthwhile alternative to the GOP. As long as Democrats rely on losers, minorities, union sheep, and elites to vote for them, they will continue to lose more than they win.

I think that most democrats are not as extreme as the party. The democratic party is the only political organization capable of taking on the republican party regardless because of the sheer size and strength cannot be matched. The leadership of the Democratic party and major donors are going to have to do some strong suggesting to get the party back on track. Its never healthy for one party to have a monopoly over the other. The democratic party will recover and republicans have to be prepared to respond. We should also not underestimate Howard Dean. He was able to get the endorsement of the NRA and signed into law civil unions while governor of Vermont.
