Remembering 9/11

Today marks the 4th Anniversary of 9/11/01. The good news is that we have not had a major strike against us since then but the bad news is that the threat is still ongoing.

The worst news is that on 9/11/01, Iraq was not a "major front in the War on Terror" (or, "global struggle against religious extremism," if you prefer) but now is.

Iraq was an emerging threat to the US. Before Clinton left office he said that force might be necessary against. He decided at the time that force was not necessary at that time. 9/11 obviously moved up the time table.
Even without the discovery of WMD which we have not found in Iraq yet the more important policy question is where did they go because we know Iraq had them (ie chemical and biological weapons).
Iraq was a growing threat to the United States and Americans need to realize that there are no clear battle lines when it comes to warfare when it comes the War on Terrorism.
