BRAC Commission keeps Duluth's 148th Fighter Wing

Base closing commission decided to recommend keeping Duluth's 148th Fighter Wing open. This will keep many high paying jobs in the Duluth area. Governor Pawlenty and the Minnesota congressional delegation have been lobbying the commission to keep it open.
The final recommendations of the BRAC commission must still be approved by the president and the congress. The commission is expected to submit its report to the president early next week where he will either accept, reject or revise the report. Then it will be submitted to Congress for an up or down vote.
