Bush takes responsibility for federal response for Katrina

Pres. Bush today admitted today that the federal response was inadequate for Katrina. He said that he would be leading an investigation on why the response was so slow and how to improve the response time at the federal level. He said the investigation would come later because the recovery effort is still ongoing.

How can he lead an investigation into his own failure? Yesterday, in the Washington Post, EJ Dionne gave a spot-on assessment of the end of the Bush era. I encourage all to read it on washingtonpost.com.
