The Governor of Louisiana requested and the federal government have been asked to support law enforcement as the city attempts to re-establish law and order. The federal government will be in a support role and the local law enforcement will be the lead law enforcement agency. The National Guard plans to have an additional 40,000 troops to assist local law enforcement. Marshall Law has NOT been declared.
